President Bush squandered the surplus left by President Clinton by giving the richest Americans a tax cut during war time for the first time in our history and we now have the largest debt in history! When Mr. Bush took the oath of office in 200l, the nonpartisan CBO projected $5.6 trillion in federal budget surpluses through 2011. Bush left a trail of deficits and debt that has sharply constrain his successor, President Obama.

A great American, Oliver Wendell Holmes, stated. “We pay taxes for a civilized society!” Those whose people immigrated to America after the founding and don’t which to pay taxes should leave. They come to America and say not, “What can I do for America, but What can America do for me”? Too many immigrants think that – America – Home of the brave and land of the free, means they don’t have to pay taxes, they don’t have to serve this country in the military, they don’t have do anything for America. These insidious ingrates think that we came to the Colonies in the 1600s and fought, sacrificed and died for our Democracy and our Constitutional freedoms just so they could immigrate to America and enjoy the freedom for which they have contributed nothing.

Those who don’t want to pay taxes for civility should find another country! Bon Voyage!

I completely agree. I grew up in Chicago and now live in Texas. Sometimes I feel sorry for the children that grow up in this state. The City of Chicago and the State of Illinois do collect their share of taxes but look what the children in Chicago get in return. I clean and green park within every few city blocks and tons of other cheap recreational centers run by the city. As a child I had the opportunity to spend my summers at Day Camps that were held in every park in the city and cost our parents a minimal amount of money. The camps provided field trips, all day supervision until parents got off of work, lunches, swimming, etc. None of this could be done at such a minimal cost to working parents without raising taxes. Children in Chicago had and still have some where to go in the summer that keeps them off the street and out of trouble. Parents have some place to send their children without braking the bank. Next Chicago has a transit system that operates 24 hrs. a day. This means that no matter where you are in the city and connecting suburbs and no matter what time you start your job, you will always be able to get to a job. This kind of infrastructure is attractive to companies for new places to open up business. None of this would be possible without raising taxes. Now true, all politicians have not used our tax dollars wisely and we have failed to monitor them. But don’t get it twisted, if you live in a place that doesn’t collect taxes and puts them to good use to better the lives of its citizenry be afraid because you probably do not have exposure to some of the resources that makes life a little more tolerable. When a community brings its resources and monies together there is more that it can do for its individual members in many caes than an individual member can do for himself. For example, it would cost a parent more to send a child to an exclusive some camp than it would the parent when every community member contributed one tax dollar that goes to summer programs in the local park district. Cities can make a bigger return on thousands of tax dollars than one parent can make on the money she spends to send one child away to summer camp.

Many people trash cities like Chicago and call it corrupt. Well, when you live in a big city, it rationally follows that you should expect more of everything, good and bad. I have lived in a number of major cities around the world and I would not trade it for anything in the world. The exposure, knowledge, relationships, etc. that you experience is what life is all about, even if it means paying some taxes. Get over it people, Obama already gave most of you a tax cut, what more do you want.

from Maddame Malkin:
“By contrast, the piece of crap report issued on April 7 is a sweeping indictment of conservatives.”

She only thinks so because she thinks that all of the conservatives follow her….
